Farewell 2024 and get ready to welcome 2025 with our family-friendly celebration at Wollongong Harbour. Sponsored by our Platinum Partner, ForHealth, this fun, family friendly and alcohol free community event is filled with music, entertainment, food trucks and our iconic 9pm Harbour fireworks. Fireworks will be held at 9pm at Wollongong Harbour as the finale to our New Year's Eve celebrations. Make sure you grab a spot to watch this spectacular display. Kicking off from 5pm on Tuesday 31 December, the family friendly event will feature fireworks at 9pm over the harbour. The event will also see the return of the Accessible Viewing Area. Wollongong will be illuminated by its iconic harbourside fireworks on New Year's Eve. When the show starts at 9pm there will be two great viewing spots: Osborne Park and Lang Park. Welcome the New Year in and celebrate around Wollongong, Shellharbour and the Illawarra. Discover where there will be NYE fireworks, parties, and other events. Roads will be closed as large crowds attend New Year's Eve celebrations and a fireworks display at Belmore Basin near the lighthouse in Wollongong Harbour. Attendees are encouraged to catch public transport with trains and buses within short walking distance. The evening of 31 December will see Wollongong Harbour host an alcohol free, family friendly event, highlighted by the traditional 9pm fireworks display. It will also see the return of an Accessible Viewing Area at Belmore Basin to ensure people with disability can enjoy a front-row seat.
